Sword-Shaped Leaves
These plants all have tall, emergent leaves, most with a wide base and a pointed tip. They are not normally grown for their bloom. Though we do not sell the typical native cattail spotted in wetlands around Ontario, we do sell some interesting varieties.

Sweet Flag | Acorus calamus | ||||
| Sometimes called sweet scented rush, the iris-like leaves smell delightful when crushed. The interesting green flower spike is inconspicuous, grows to 18" tall. | ||||||

Variegated Sweet Flag | Acorus calamus variegata | ||||
| Very attractive green and white striped leaves provide a focus in the water garden. Not as strongly scented as the regular variety. | ||||||
