Plants of distinctive growth and form add interest to the garden pond.

	Floating Heart		Villarsia nymphoides
	Trailing stems spread across the surface with tiny waterlily-like leaves. Bright yellow flowers produced in midsummer, great to help fill a new pond.

	Bog Arum		Calla palustris
	Low growing plant, creeps across the water's surface. Produces unusual white flowers. Grows up to 10" high.

	Bog Bean		Menyanthes trifoliata
	Interesting plant with stems that spread across the pond, producing attractive, three part leaves. Blooms in early spring with pyramid of pale pink flowers. Grows up to 12" tall.

	Aquatic Forget-Me-Not		Myosotis scirpiodes
	Low growing plant that produces dainty blue flowers from spring to midsummer. Will grow and flower in partial shade. Aquatic relative of well known garden Forget-Me-Not.

	Aquatic Forget-Me-Not "Pinkie"		Myosotis scirpiodes 'Pinkie"
	Low growing plant that produces dainty pink flowers from spring to midsummer. Will grow and flower in partial shade.

	Water Mint		Mentha aquatica
	Strongly scented vigorous mint with reddish stems and pale purple flowers in tufts along the stems.

	Water Plantain		Alisma plantago-aquatica
	Starts out with floating spear shaped leaves which then rise above the water in a circular group. By midsummer, a tall plume of tiny white or pale pink flowers appear. Sometimes called aquatic baby's breath.

	Water Strawberry		Potentilla palustris
	This plant resembles a strawberry, from its leaves and flowers to its small berry like fruit. Sorry, it's not edible!
